A fully renovated winemaker’s house nestled in the heart of the vineyards. We are Sarah and Alexis, owners of La Maison Pinot Noir and lovers of the region. We found this house within a large farmstead and fell in love immediately, seeing its potential despite the renovations needed. With imagination, courage, and hard work, we redesigned each living space to create unique, warm, and carefully decorated lodgings. We wish you a pleasant stay at La Maison Pinot Noir.

Challenges & Objectives

/ Project Overview

La Maison Pinot Noir is a typical winemaker’s house, built tall. It once housed grape harvesters during the season. The section with the large glass window did not exist originally it was a barn that we rehabilitated. We recreated and delimited the spaces to create 5 distinct lodgings. The house is located in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, a charming wine village in Burgundy famous for its prestigious Pinot Noir wines. Nestled among the vineyards, it offers a picturesque and peaceful setting, ideal for a wine-focused getaway. The village has all essential amenities: restaurants, bakeries, shops, and a local market. The project includes the creation of a clean, elegant logo (burgundy and beige, serif typography, illustration of the house), a clear and classy website, and a three-fold brochure presenting several of their rooms.

/ Challenges

Translating the authenticity of a renovated winemaker’s house into a visual identity that feels both rustic and refined. Using burgundy (wine) and beige (stone, warmth) without looking like a generic wine label. Designing a logo that combines an illustration of the house with elegant serif typography while remaining simple and memorable. Creating a website that is clear, classy, and easy to navigate for potential guests. Producing a three-fold brochure that presents multiple rooms coherently and attractively.

/ Objectives

Design a logo featuring an illustration of La Maison Pinot Noir using a burgundy and beige color palette and a serif typeface. Develop a visual identity that evokes warmth, character, and wine-country charm. Build a clean, elegant website that showcases the lodgings, the village, and the surrounding vineyards. Create a three-fold brochure with room presentations, photos, and key information. Position La Maison Pinot Noir as an authentic, comfortable, and stylish destination for wine lovers and travelers seeking a peaceful Burgundy escape.

Creative
Process

Started with the story of Sarah and Alexis: their love for the region, the renovation journey, and the transformation of a harvesters’ house into five unique lodgings. Researched Burgundy wine country aesthetics: stone walls, oak barrels, Pinot Noir grapes, warm earth tones, elegant vineyard signage. Chose a palette of deep burgundy (Pinot Noir wine) and soft beige (local stone, linen, warmth). Sketched logo concepts: a clean line illustration of the house’s facade (with the large glass window addition), paired with a refined serif typography for the name “La Maison Pinot Noir”. Selected a serif font that feels classic, readable, and slightly rustic. Designed a website layout with ample white space, high-quality photography of the house and rooms, easy navigation for booking and local information. Created a three-fold brochure: front panel featuring the logo and a hero image of the house, inside panels with individual room descriptions (charm, amenities, views), back panel with contact details and a small map of Gevrey-Chambertin. Applied consistent brand elements across all materials: burgundy accents, beige backgrounds, elegant serif headings, and clear sans-serif for practical information. Tested the brochure’s readability and fold usability. Delivered a complete brand identity for La Maison Pinot Noir where every detail from the illustrated house on the logo to the classy website layout invites guests to experience Burgundy’s wine country with warmth, authenticity, and understated elegance.
