Challenges & Objectives

/ Project Overview

Taking Kellogg’s iconic identity and graphic elements, we created a new innovative design to transform Kellogg’s cereals into drinkable beverages. Our design team worked together to integrate the brand’s visual codes such as bright colors and geometric patterns into a fresh, modern bottle design. The result is a range of drinks that not only capture the brand’s essence but also offer a unique and refreshing tasting experience. Each bottle was designed to reflect the personality of each Kellogg’s cereal. The colors, shapes, and patterns were carefully chosen to evoke the emotions and memories associated with these iconic cereals.

/ Challenges

Translating solid cereal experiences (crunch, milk, bowl) into a liquid beverage format while keeping brand recognition. Maintaining Kellogg’s bright, playful, geometric identity without making the bottles look like juice or soda. Ensuring each cereal’s unique personality (Corn Flakes vs. Raisin Bran vs. Rice Krispies) is visually distinct. Creating a drinking experience that feels nostalgic yet innovative.

/ Objectives

Design a bottle series that captures Kellogg’s iconic bright colors and geometric patterns. Create distinct visual identities for each cereal flavor (Corn Flakes, Raisin Bran, Rice Krispies, Frosted Flakes, etc.). Use shapes, colors, and motifs to evoke childhood memories and brand loyalty. Deliver a beverage line that feels refreshing, modern, and unmistakably Kellogg’s.

Creative
Process

Started with research on Kellogg’s visual DNA: red logo, white script, geometric patterns, bright primary colors, mascots (Tony the Tiger, Snap Crackle Pop). Explored how to translate cereal bowl imagery into bottle design. Sketched bottle silhouettes inspired by milk cartons and retro diner glasses. Developed a color-coded system: Corn Flakes (yellow and red), Raisin Bran (purple and brown), Rice Krispies (blue and white with pop motifs), Frosted Flakes (orange with tiger stripes). Designed labels featuring enlarged cereal pieces floating in milk-like backgrounds. Added geometric patterns from Kellogg’s packaging history as label borders or cap accents. Created a “Drinkable Cereals” logotype that echoes Kellogg’s classic script but with a fluid, liquid twist. Tested bottle mockups on shelves next to traditional cereal boxes to ensure brand recognition. Delivered a final design where every sip feels like pouring your favorite cereal into a glass but colder, faster, and just as delicious.
